Principals Report

Dear Parents,
It is with great pleasure that I write to you as Acting Principal of Holy Rosary while Ms Brooks is on leave. I can honestly say that you have a very privileged community with a very understanding and supportive Parish Priest, extremely dedicated teachers and teacher assistants who work very hard to bring the best out in your children. Your children are delightful and I have been made feel very welcome by staff and children at Holy Rosary.
It is very important that you feel that you can make an appointment to see me with your concerns and issues in Ms Brooks absence. I have been in the role of principal for over twenty years and I am here to support you and your children during my short term.
On Thursday, 23rd March, 2017 Mrs Piesse, Mrs Derrick and myself escorted the following children to the Cathedral for the Catholic Education Mass.
The children who were a credit to our school and their families were: Mitch Maynard, Brooke Barwick, Jonathan Sorensen, Thomas Briggs, Emily Seabourne, Michaela White, Bella Pearsall, Ciara Montalvo, Lisa Suliman, Faith Wara, Lincoln Browning, Liza Suliman, Niah Bester, Nakeesha Horton, Bridie Horne, Bonnie Clark, Nicala Whelan, Dylan Thompson, Leilah Parnell, Madison Barker, Sianna Biggar, Jonte Banks, Amy Palmer, Toby Garlick and Raymond Kean.
The Catholic Education motto is “Love God with all your heart.”
You may have seen this before but it’s certainly worthy of repeating. As we continue our Lenten journey towards Easter, the importance of Easter can be summed up in three letters A, S, H which was quite appropriate for ASH Wednesday.
A is for Alms giving or making the needs of others, especially the needy, our own, and has always been a focus of Christian expression. The ‘needy’ encompass children, the old, the sick, the suffering no matter where they may live. To such people, or the organisations which assist them, we can give time, a share of our talents, material resources; whatever we give should be something of ourselves, something that costs us.
S is for Sacrifice. Sacrifice requires us to give up something or to fast. In today's materialistic society, sacrifice and fasting is somewhat regarded with ridicule. Besides the traditional notions of sacrifice through fasting, we can all look for opportunities for sacrifice. We can look to give up anger and hatred to be more patient and understanding; give up judging others to think kindly thoughts; we can give up complaining to focus on gratitude and we can give up resentment or bitterness and turn to forgiveness.
H is for Holiness. We strive for holiness through prayer. As we know, prayer is much more than simply saying words, it is the quiet engagement of our inner-self. We should endeavour to close out the noise, the trivialities, the distractions that crave our attention. In the quietness of ourselves we can draw closer to God.
I wish everyone who is representing Holy Rosary at the Swimming Carnival on Friday all the best. Congratulations to all those who are in our team!
Kind Regards,
Jim Ireland

Kindergarten C Excursion
On Wednesday the 24th of March Kinder C bundled on to the Holy Rosary bus for their first excursion to Windermere Park.
